KATHMANDU: Mayor of Kirtipur Municipality, Rajkumar Nakarmi, has passed away at the age of 60.
Deputy Mayor Laxmi Shakya stated that Nakarmi died during treatment at Bir Hospital last night.

In light of Nakarmi’s untimely death, the municipality has granted a public holiday today to mourn his death.
It is said that Nakarmi’s body will be kept in Kirtipur Municipality from 9AM to 11 AM for the general public to offer their last tributes, with the funeral proceedings to follow.
Nakarmi had been battling kidney disease for an extended period.
He was elected as the mayor of Kirtipur Municipality in the local level elections held in 2079 BS.
