Man found dead in hotel room

KATHMANDU, Aug 10: A government servant and victim of the recent flooding, who was in the capital to hold talks with the government for proper relief packages, has been found dead in a hotel at Sundhara on Saturday.



The deceased has been identified as Dev Singh Karki, 47, of Khalanga-2 of Darchula district, who was in Kathmandu since 13 days with a group of eleven people. "He didn´t open his eyes in the morning when two of his friends, who shared the room with him tried to wake him up at around 6:30 am," DSP Arjun Chand of Metropolitan Police Range Office, Hanuman Dhoka, said. "We have sent the body for postmortem to TUTH Maharajgunj. According to preliminary investigation, the deceased died of heart attack," DSP Chand said. According to the family sources, the deceased had undergone medical check-up at Civil Hospital and doctor had diagnosed serious problems related to heart.

The police said, once the son of the deceased, who serves in the Nepal Army and is deployed in Syangja district, will reach Kathmandu, the body will be handed over to him.
