RJ cadres led by senior vice-chairman of the party and lawmaker Rashmiraj Nepali had assembled there as part of the party´s month-long campaign for peace and constitution and against federalism.[break]
“An unruly group of MPRF cadres abruptly attacked our cadres while our vice-chairman Badre Alam was addressing the gathering,” said a statement issued by RJ Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC. Apart from vandalizing furniture, MPRF cadres also tore down the national and RJ flag.
RJ cadres were also attacked a few days ago in Birtamod and Damak of Jhapa district by members of Sanghiya Limbuwan Rajya Parishad.
The party has been consistently fighting against the proposed federal system, has launched a nationwide campaign since December 25.
Denouncing the attack, KC said such attacks would not deter Janamorcha cadres commitment for fighting against federalism.
