NHRC to carry out exhumation

JANAKPUR, Sept 5: Exhumation will be carried out in the area where five local youths were buried after killing them during conflict period.



The national Human Rights Commission is beginning the task of exhumation and investigation. The victim families have claimed that the state side had disappeared their children from Kataiyachauri of Janakpur municipality. [break]



According to victim families, five youths were killed and subsequently buried at the bank of the Kamala river nearby Godar of Dhanusha.



Police arrested them for involving in rebel side and handed over to the Army, which had killed them, stated the complaint lodged by victim family in the District Police Office.



The then Superintendent of Police (SP) Kuber Singh Rana, Chief District Officer Rebati Raman Kafle, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chuda Bahadur Shrestha and Major of Dharapani battalion Anup Adhikari have been made defendant.



Even after it has been three years that a decision was made to provide financial assistance to the families of those five disappeared, they have not received any sigh of relief to this date, victims complained.
