The boy of around 13 years old was hit by a vehicle whose registration number is not yet known, the District Police Office, Chitwan said.
The boy has been found to be mentally retarded but making ends meet by begging on the street.He succumbed to his injuries at the Bharatpur Hospital, police said.
Meanwhile, police have begun a search for the unidentified vehicle and its driver.
