KATHMANDU, July 14: The Public Account Committee (PAC) members have stressed the need for conducting a thorough discussion on e-passport printing at a parliament committee meeting.
The members viewed during the PAC meeting today that the stakeholders must be brought here for rigorous discussion because this issue had triggered public concern. However, some members said this is off-limits because it is under consideration at court.

Lawmakers Barshaman Pun, Kranti Shikha Dhital, Mahendra Bahadur Shahi, and Khusbu Oli, among others spoke on printing of e-passport.
They argued that the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had also received a complaint on this issue and concluded it was a problematic one. Although irregularity was reported on printing of passports, the extent of irregularity was not ascertained.
Committee chairman Bharat Bahadur Khadka informed that they would decide further action once the court issues verdict on it.
