KATHMANDU, Aug 10: The Republic of Peru celebrated its 204th independence anniversary amid a function in Kathmandu on Sunday.

Speaking at a recent program organized in the capital, Non-resident Ambassador of Peru to Nepal Javier Paulinich said Nepal and Peru are united by a deep sense of cultural richness, historical heritage and profound spiritual traditions that stem from ancient civilizations. “Both nations are guardians of millennia-old wisdom, breathtaking landscapes and resilient people.”
Stating that Nepal and Peru celebrate 49th years of diplomatic relationship this year, Envoy Paulinich hailed Nepal’s commitment to peace, sustainable development and climate action. “Nepal’s global leadership in hydropower, sustainable mountain development and eco-tourism serve as inspiration for our Andean communities and as a platform for future collaboration,” he said, adding that the two countries are full of untapped potential for commercial exchange.
