PM Oli’s planned address to parliament today cancelled

The PM has canceled the previously scheduled address after the top leaders were not present at the Friday meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR).

KATHMANDU, April 25: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli's address to the parliament, which was scheduled for today, has been canceled.


PM Oli had planned to address the House of Representatives (HoR) today on the occasion of the start of the federal parliament session.

The PM has canceled the previously scheduled address after the top leaders were not present at the Friday meeting of the HoR. The leader of the main opposition party, CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal, is in Barpak, Gorkha. He had traveled to Barpak on Thursday to participate in an event marking the 10th anniversary of the 2015 earthquake.


Similarly, the president of the ruling party, Nepali Congress, Sher Bahadur Deuba is also in Thailand for medical treatment.


The budget session of parliament is set to begin at 1 pm today. The PM was scheduled to address the session on its first day.
