KATHMANDU, April 13: The government has appointed Pushpa Ram KC to the post of Inspector General of the Armed Police Force (APF). A cabinet meeting held on Wednesday morning made a decision to this effect.

Additional Inspector General (AIG) KC was appointed as IGP after the outgoing IGP Shailendra Khanal got mandatory retirement on April 11 after completing a four-year service limit as IG.
AIG KC and Ram Sharan Poudel were in the fray for the post of APF chief. Both of them will get mandatory retirement on May 2 for their 30 years of service. A new IG of APF will be appointed after May 2 again.
