KATHMANDU, May 30: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) secured a spot in the final by defeating Punjab Kings in the first qualifier of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
Punjab batted first, but the team got bowled out for just 101 runs. Marcus Stoinis scored the highest for Punjab with 26 runs.

Bangalore chased down the target in just 10 overs, scoring 106 runs while losing two wickets. Phil Salt remained unbeaten with 55 runs, hitting a half-century, while Virat Kohli scored only 12 runs.
Earlier, Bangalore's spin bowler Suyash Sharma and pacer Josh Hazlewood each took three wickets.
Punjab will now compete in Qualifier 2 against the winner of the eliminator match. The IPL final is scheduled for June 3.
