KATHMANDU, Dec 10: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) on Wednesday decreased marginally by 7.86 points to close at 2,606.20 points.
The secondary market opened at 2,614.07 points and initially inclined to the day’s high at 2,618.5 points in the first 40 minutes. The market gradually declined to reach below 6,000 points in the last six minutes, while it recovered around seven points in the remaining period before it closed for the day.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
With a nominal rise of 0.07 points, only mutual funds were the gainer. Out of the 12 losers, non-life insurance shedded the largest of 38.59 points.
The sensitive index which measures the performance of ‘A’ class companies decreased 0.86 points. The daily turnover further declined to Rs 3.73 billion from Rs 3.75 billion.
Among the individual companies, 80 were gainers while 169 were recorded as losers. Shreenagar Agritech Industries Limited had the largest turnover of its shares worth Rs 263.94 million.
Jhapa Energy Limited had the highest fall of 9.30 percent in its market price. Two companies including Swastik Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha and Muktinath Krishi Company Limited, by gaining 10 percent, were listed as the highest gainers.
