KATHMANDU, Aug 27: Police have arrested two individuals accused of swindling more than Rs 3 million by luring victims with promises of foreign employment opportunities in Canada and Croatia.
A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, apprehended the suspects from different locations in the capital on Monday.

The arrested have been identified as 24-year-old Suresh Nath of Dadeldhura and 43-year-old Dhan Bahadur Rai of Sankhuwasabha. According to police, Nath cheated two victims out of Rs 1.701 million under the pretence of sending them to Canada, while Rai defrauded another victim of Rs 1.35 million with false assurances of employment in Croatia. Both had gone out of contact after taking the money.
Acting on complaints filed by the victims, police arrested Nath from New Bus Park and Rai from Budhanilkantha.
The two have been handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment, Tahachal, for further investigation and legal action, police said.
