KATHMANDU, Aug 5: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has arrested two Indian nationals at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with a significant quantity of white heroin.
In two separate incidents, the NCB seized a total of 7.8 kilograms of heroin, which is estimated to be worth millions in the international market.
According to the NCB, both individuals were arrested by a police team deployed at the airport branch while monitoring passengers arriving by air. They had flown from Laos to Kathmandu via Bangkok.
In the first case, Firoz Ahmad, 35, from Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested with four kilograms of white heroin from the TIA’s arrival area.

The next day, Mouleswaran Nanjundamurthy Kurnal Vel, 32, from Tamil Nadu, India, was apprehended with 3.8 kilograms of heroin. He had arrived in Kathmandu via the same route.
Police said both suspects are under further investigation with their custody extended by the Kathmandu District Court under the Narcotic Drugs (Control) Act, 2033 BS.
