KATHMANDU, August 1: A veteran classical music teacher and singer, Gurudev Kamat, passed away today at the age of 69. He breathed last at his Siraha-based residence.

One of his relatives said that his last rites will be performed today itself and preparations for that are underway.
Kamat had been diagnosed with kidney failure lately. Due to the lack of financial resources, he had returned to his hometown, Pokharbhinda, Siraha, where he had been undergoing dialysis at his home.
