Nepal defeated Uganda by five wickets in the final of Division 3 to clinch its third consecutive One-Day title at the international level. Nepal also secured berth in the World Cup Qualifiers to be held in New Zealand in January 2014 by reaching the final of Division 3.[break]
The Nepali team, except coach Pubudu Dassanayake, is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu at 9 am on Wednesday. Dassanayke has flown to Canada from Bermuda to meet his family.
According to CAN member Kiran Rana, the victory parade will begin with a grand welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport and pass through Gaushala, Ratopul, Maitidevi, Putalisadak, Bhrikutimandap and Shahid Gate before concluding at the National Sports Council (NSC) premises in Tripureshwar.
Youth and Sports Minister Ram Kumar Shrestha and NSC Member Secretary Yuvaraj Lama are to receive the team at the NSC premises and make official announcement of cash rewards for the national team members. The 97th board meeting of NSC on Sunday had forwarded a proposal to the government to reward each member of the national team with Rs 350,000.
Meanwhile, the national team is also scheduled to meet Chairman of the Interim Election Council of Ministers, Khil Raj Regmi, on Wednesday.
