SAPTARI, July 24: A woman died of a snakebite in Mohanpur, ward 6 of Agnisair Krishnasawaran Rural Municipality, on Wednesday.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhav Prasad Kafle of the Area Police Office, Kanchanpur, the deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Sangita Rai.
Authorities have noted an increase in snakebite incidents in the Terai region due to the extreme heat, which has led to a surge in venomous snake activity.
