The project is being implemented as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) through the Likhu Pike Rural Municipality. The embassy said it is the sixth HICDP supported by India in the Solukhumbu district.
The Embassy stated that local representatives and stakeholders welcomed India's development assistance and expressed confidence that the new monastery infrastructure would help preserve the cultural heritage of the Likhu Pike area.
According to the embassy, the project reflects the ongoing development cooperation between Nepal and India. It said the implementation of HICDPs demonstrates India's continued support for Nepal's efforts to promote growth and development while strengthening infrastructure in priority sectors.
Nepal and India have long collaborated on development projects in areas such as education, health, culture, and community infrastructure through India's grant assistance programs, the embassy noted.
