KATHMANDU, Jan 6: Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party leader Ram Chandra Poudel said that CPN-UML and Congress shouldn´t be blamed for the departure of UNMIN from Nepal.

The United Nations Security Council itself decided to call back UNMIN and the UN body´s term was extended for the last time through consensus among political parties including the Unified CPN-Maoist, he said Thursday.[break]

“On one hand, UNMIN’s term was extended through consensus with Maoists for the last time, and on the other, the Security Council itself decided to recall UNMIN from Nepal,” said Poudel.

“Two armies should not be in the country. Thus, the peace process should be taken to a logical conclusion as soon as possible,” said Poudel.
