KATHMANDU, Feb 24: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the release of Durga Prasai, coordinator of the “Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizen Protection Grand Campaign.”
A joint bench of Justices Manoj Kumar Sharma and Meghraj Pokharel on Tuesday directed authorities to release Prasai, stating that he had been held unlawfully.

The habeas corpus petition was filed last week by Uma Prasai, who claimed that he was being detained illegally.
Earlier on Monday, a separate bench of Justices Nahakul Subedi and Meghraj Pokharel had ordered the Election Commission to produce the original file, including its decision to refer the matter to the police for action.
