PM Balen directs govt employees to avoid delays, embrace spirit of new govt

KATHMANDU, March 28: Newly appointed Prime Minister Balen Shah has instructed government employees to work without delay and fully embrace the spirit of his administration.



Immediately after taking office at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers’ Office on Friday, PM Balen directed government employees not to use any excuse to slow down government work. “No one is allowed to delay work by citing any issue,” he said.

A senior secretary present at the briefing said that PM Balen emphasized the need to maintain momentum even when laws or regulations require amendment. “You should also capture the spirit with which we have formed this government and are moving forward,” the secretary quoted Balen as saying. “For matters such as changes to laws or regulations, we can enact what is necessary. Work without any excuses.”


The briefing, which included both government staff and newly appointed ministers, was brief. “He addressed us for only about five minutes; we just listened,” the secretary added.
