KATHMANDU, March 10: The prime ministers of Bhutan and Bangladesh have congratulated Rabi Lamichhane and Balendra Shah (Balen) of the Rastriya Swatantra Party following their election victory in the House of Representatives polls.
They extended their congratulations and best wishes through social media after Rabi and Balen were elected with a large margin of votes.
Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay congratulated both leaders and also extended his wishes to the people of Nepal for successfully holding the election.

Taking to social media, Tobgay wrote, “Congratulations to Balen Shah and Rabi Lamichhane on their sweeping victory in Nepal’s general election. I also congratulate the Nepali people for the successful conduct of the polls.”
He further said he looked forward to working with the upcoming government to deepen the warm friendship between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Bangladeshi Prime Minister Tarique Rahman also congratulated the government and people of Nepal for holding a peaceful and successful election.
In a message shared on Facebook, Rahman said the election reflected the aspirations and resilience of the Nepali people as well as the strength of the country’s democratic institutions.
He also expressed Bangladesh’s readiness to work closely with Nepal’s new government and people to further strengthen the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier on Monday, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Rabi and Balen and congratulated them on their victory.
