KATHMANDU, April 1: A total of 302 industries have been registered at the Department of Industry in the eight months of the current fiscal year.

The industries with domestic as well as foreign investors propose to provide direct employment to around 20,000 people. Of them 194 are industries with foreign investment while 108 are run by Nepali investors. 


They have a total investment worth Rs. 232.87 billion, which includes Rs. 12 billion in the tourism industry. Other industries are related to agriculture, energy, information technology, minerals and service. 



The number of registration of industries has gone up with the country entering a phase of political stability, thereby giving investors an atmosphere of trust, says the spokesperson of the Department Durga Prasad Bhusal. RSS
