KATHMANDU, March 18: Air Dynasty has issued two statements detailing a helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday morning at Belabesi in Khotang.
According to the company, the helicopter bearing call sign 9N-AFQ, which had departed from Kathmandu for Khotang, crashed at 11:51 am while attempting to land.
The aircraft was carrying six people, including one crew member. A 74-year-old passenger, Kati Bahadur Rai, sustained injuries to his leg and eye. He was immediately airlifted to Kathmandu and is currently undergoing treatment at HAMS Hospital in Dhumbarahi. The remaining five occupants were reported safe.

The helicopter was piloted by Captain Sabin Thapa, 34, who has seven years of flying experience and has logged 1,105 flight hours.
Air Dynasty has not yet confirmed the cause of the crash. In a statement, the company’s spokesperson and senior manager, Bal Krishna Pandit, said coordination is underway with relevant authorities to determine the exact cause of the incident.
“Our priority is the treatment of the injured and support for the family. Doctors and trained personnel are currently assisting,” the statement said.
The company added that it is taking the incident seriously and will provide updates as more information becomes available. It also urged media outlets to respect the privacy of the injured passenger and his family.
