DAMAULI, Sept 7: Authorities in Tanahu are urging the families of those who are missing to get in touch with them to provide DNA samples. This is part of the effort to identify individuals lost in the devastating floods caused by the Bhotekoshi River.
Dwarika Prasad Ghimire, the Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office in Tanahun, mentioned that they are asking relatives of the flood victims to submit the necessary DNA samples. He noted that, as of now, no samples have been provided to help identify the missing individuals.

So far, 39 bodies have been recovered from the Trishuli River in Ambukhaireni and Devghat in the district.
Out of these, 24 bodies have been sent to Pokhara, while 15 have been managed in the Byasi Municipality-5 Chanauli area.
In addition, authorities have managed to contact nine individuals, while 33 residents who lived in the area are still unaccounted for following the flood.
Police and other agencies are actively working to identify and locate the missing persons.
