Reading the books out of school course books is a great fun which provides knowledge on variety of subjects, said 12-year-old Adarsha Pande, who was found in the library.[break]
He added that he comes to the library once he has holiday and leisure. Reading these books of poems and stories make us free from the monotony of reading school books, he expressed relief, adding, it also enhances our intellectual faculty.
Like Pande, there are many other students from various schools enjoying library reading.
Bijaya Jha, a secondary level student of Durbar High School also said when he has leisure from academic study, he goes to the Children´s Library and enjoys reading varieties of books.
He expressed his happiness over the availability of variety of books on different topics which are not available in schools.
The Library was set up two and half years back by the government especially for the school children.
It has more than 1,000 books on different subjects suiting children´s interests.
Even the Himal Association, Room to Read, and different people provided books to the Library.
According to the Library, more than 24 school children visit the Library daily.
