KATHMANDU, Sept 22: Heavy rains have triggered floods and landslides, disrupting major highways and road sections across the country. While some roads remain completely blocked, others are operating on a one-way basis.
According to Nepal Police, the Koshi Highway has been fully blocked at two locations in Sankhuwasabha—Barun of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 and Ekua of Makalu Rural Municipality-3.
In Rasuwa, two road sections are obstructed. The Rasuwagadhi border point has been completely shut after floods damaged the bridge linking Nepal and China at Gosainkunda Rural Municipality-2. Similarly, a landslide at Baluwakhani in Gosainkunda-2 has fully blocked the Pasang Lhamu Highway.

In the same district, the Galchhi-Trishuli-Mailung-Syafru road at Naubise in Uttargaya Rural Municipality-5 is operating one-way due to flooding.
In Sindhupalchok, the Kodari area in Bhotekoshi Rural Municipality-2 has been blocked by a landslide, halting traffic along the Araniko Highway. In Chitwan, the Narayangadh-Muglin road—which had remained closed for two days due to a landslide at Tuinkhola in Ichhakamana-5—is now open one-way.
In Baglung, a landslide at Kalakhola in Baglung Municipality-13 has restricted the Kaligandaki Corridor to one-way traffic.
Nawalparasi (Bardaghat Susta East) has reported three partial blockages. The Kaligandaki Corridor at Tarankhola in Gaindakot-3 is one-way due to flooding, while landslides near Bishwakarma Temple in Binayi Tribeni-2 have forced one-way traffic along the East-West Highway. Another section at Paisaththi Mod in the same municipality has also been reduced to one-way after continuous rainfall.
In Rukum East, a landslide at Kandabagar in Bhume-4 has left the Mid-Hill Highway operating one-way.
