KATHMANDU, Oct 7: A newly constructed school building at Shree Panchayat Madhyamik Vidyalaya in Sundarharaincha Municipality-7, Gothgaun, Morang, built with financial assistance from the Government of India, was inaugurated on Tuesday.
Koshi Province Chief Minister Hikmat Kumar Karki, First Secretary at the Embassy of India in Kathmandu Narayan Singh, and Sundarharaincha Municipality Mayor Kedar Prasad Guragain jointly inaugurated the building, according to a press statement issued by the Indian Embassy.

The school building was constructed under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) and implemented through Sundarharaincha Municipality.
The press statement said Karki and other stakeholders appreciated India’s development support, noting that the new infrastructure would help improve the learning environment for students and educators in the municipality.
According to the statement, 605 HICDP projects have been undertaken across all seven provinces and 74 districts of Nepal since the program was launched. Of these, 103 projects are in Koshi Province, including 17 in Morang.
The Government of India has also gifted 150 ambulances and 62 school buses to institutions in the health and education sectors in Koshi Province, including 21 ambulances and 17 school buses in Morang, the statement said.
It added that HICDPs reflect continued India-Nepal cooperation in supporting Nepal’s development and strengthening infrastructure in priority sectors.
