Theft cases decrease in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Number of theft cases has gone down in Kathmandu Valley in the fiscal year 2015/2016 as compared to fiscal year 2014/15.

KATHMANDU, Aug 13: Number of theft cases has gone down in Kathmandu Valley in the fiscal year 2015/2016 as compared to fiscal year 2014/15. 



According to the data provided by the Metropolitan Police Crime Division, a total of 255 theft cases were occurred in the fiscal year 2014/15 while it was 138 in fiscal year 2015/16. 



Deputy Superintendent of Police the Division, Prem Basnet, said that number of theft incidents has gone down in last fiscal year as compared to previous fiscal year due to activeness of police. 



Similarly, incidents of robbery have also decreased. A total of 42 robbery incidents had taken place in last fiscal year against 63 in previous fiscal year, added Basnet. 



He further said that theft cases are taking place in Kathmandu Valley in day time in recent period. Ninety per cent theft cases are taking place in day time as compared to night. 



Most of the theft incidents take place at Maharajgunj, New Baneshwor, New Bus Park and Balaju areas of Kathmandu Valley, added Basnet. RSS
