Speaking at a function of the UML district council, the prime minister said, “Nothing evil will befall the nation without UNMIN.”
Stating that the UN political mission stayed in Nepal for four years despite being mandated to remain for six months, Nepal said UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon wanted to pull out UNMIN from Nepal due to growing financial burden.[break]
“The Special Committee for integration and rehabilitation of the Maoist combatants will look after the integration task,” the prime minister said, adding the country has military specialists as well to accomplish the task. Nepal further claimed that some people were hell-bent on defaming the nation saying an army coup, people´s revolt or presidential rule was in the offing.
“How can we say that the president would impose a presidential rule and the army engineer a military coup?” the PM questioned. He also expressed hope that the constitution will be promulgated by May 28.
“I am not in favor of extending the tenure of the Constitution Assembly any further,” he said.
