KATHMANDU, Aug 21: A 22-year-old man died after being beaten and attacked with a sharp weapon at a hostel in Sankhamul, Kathmandu.
Police said Basanta Kalathoki of Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City-17, Dang, who was staying at Valley Boys Hostel, was attacked by two fellow residents.

The suspects have been identified as 18-year-old Shekhar Yadav of Kalaiya Sub-Metropolitan City-3, Bara, and around 20-year-old Pramit Patel. They allegedly beat Kalathoki and attacked him with a sharp weapon.
Kalathoki, who sustained serious injuries, was taken to Civil Service Hospital in Minbhawan for treatment. He died during treatment from deep injuries to his head and neck, the hospital said.
Police have taken Yadav into custody and are investigating the incident. Patel, who fled following the attack, is still at large, police said.
