The court issued the summons after the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed a case on Friday against the six for their alleged involvement in misuse of Rs 57.3 million in Airbus purchase deal.[break]
“The court has issued notice to all the defendants to appear before the court within 15 days,” Dhir Bahadur Chand, the court´s registrar told Republica.
The bench included the court´s chairman Gauri Bahadur Karki and members Om Prakash Sharma and Kedar Prasad Chalise.
The anti-graft body had concluded that Kansakar grossly flouted the Public Procurement Act by sending the non-refundable money to Airbus without the approval of NAC board of directors.
Acting Assistant General Managers Raju Bahadur KC and Ganesh Thakur, Acting Director Gyanendra Purush Dhakal, Director Mayur Sumsher Rana and Acting Deputy Director Keshav Raj Sharma are the other five officials who are accused of being involved in the scam.
As per the provisions of the Anti-Corruption Act 2059 BS, Special Court should complete hearing on any corruption-related case within six months from the date of filing of the case.
