LPG cylinders being sold at five Kathmandu locations today; ID card mandatory

The designated sales points are the NOC premises in Teku, the Transport Office premises in Chabahil, Radha Soami Satsang Beas premises in Kirtipur, Radha Soami Satsang Beas premises in Basundhara, and the premises of the former District Administration Office in Babarmahal.

KATHMANDU, Aug. 15: With consumers struggling to find cooking gas amid a supply crunch, Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) is selling LPG cylinders at five designated locations across Kathmandu on Saturday.



The sale is being organized in coordination with the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, as the authorities seek to ease difficulties faced by consumers who urgently need cooking gas.

The designated sales points are the NOC premises in Teku, the Transport Management Office premises in Chabahil, Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan premises in Kirtipur, Radha Swami Satsang Bhawan premises in Basundhara, and the premises of the former District Administration Office in Babarmahal.


Cylinders of various brands, including Nepal Gas, HP Gas, Everest/Sugam Gas, Shree Ram Gas, Sagar Gas, Siddhartha Gas, Himal Gas, AP Gas, Shree Maya Gas, Shree Krishna Gas, Saibaba Gas, Om Gas, Bhanu Gas, STC Gas, Lokpriya Gas and Surya Gas, will be available, according to the NOC.


Consumers in urgent need of LPG must bring their citizenship certificate or National Identity Card to purchase a cylinder. The sales points will remain open from 10 am to 6 pm.


The NOC said LPG imports have continued regularly and gas industries have also been supplying cylinders through their dealers. It urged consumers who are not in urgent need to avoid purchasing from the designated sales points and leave the supply for those facing immediate shortages.
