KATHMANDU, Oct 2: Nepal’s stock market fell 11.90 points on Friday, with the Nepse index closing at 2,587.25.
The index declined 0.45 percent on the final trading day of the week, while total turnover exceeded Rs 4.29 billion. A total of 11.91 million shares of 356 securities changed hands through 43,685 transactions.
Nepse stretches winning run with record weekly turnover
All sub-indices except mutual funds and trading declined. The manufacturing and processing sub-index recorded the biggest loss, falling 0.73 percent.
NMB Debenture gained the most, rising 14.29 percent, followed by SBL Debenture, which increased 8.80 percent.
Sindhu Bikash Bank fell the most, declining 8.55 percent, while Dhaulagiri Microfinance Financial Institution dropped 4.95 percent.
The market’s decline came despite the Ministry of Finance announcing measures to improve the stock market last week. The report said investors appear to be adopting a wait-and-see approach.
