KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has brought into circulation a new 100-rupee banknote featuring Nepal’s updated “chuche (political) map.” The central bank printed the new note with the revised political map and released it into circulation from Thursday.
The color and size of the new note remain the same as before. On the left side of the new note is an image of Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak, and on the right side is a watermark of the rhododendron. At the center of the note, there is an illustration of Nepal’s map and the Ashoka Pillar.

To help visually impaired individuals identify the note by touch, a black tactile dot has been added next to the Ashoka Pillar. On the left side, inside an oval, there is a ‘silver metallic’ image of Maya Devi.
For security, the note includes a 2-mm-wide security thread that appears red when viewed straight and green when tilted.
