Whitehouse, Prime in final

KATHMANDU, Jan 5: Whitehouse defeated National Campus 50-45 in the Eighth Prime Cup Inter-college Basketball Tournament on Wednesday to set a title clash with the hosts Prime in the boys´ category. Prime had already secured the final berth defeating Trinity on Tuesday.



Whitehouse lagging behind 8-15 in the first quarter made a come back in the second quarter with a 14-5 win. [break]



The third quarter ended in a 7-7 draw as Whitehouse still maintained a two-point lead. National Campus leveled the match in the last quarter with 10-8 win as the final score was 37-37.



The match headed toward extra time during which Whitehouse turned the tide in their favor scoring 13-8. Rahul Maskey scored 14 points for Whitehouse.

Whitehouse will take on the hosts on Saturday.



Meanwhile, NASA registered a 21-9 win over Rato Bangala in the girls´ round robin match. However, both the teams have already been eliminated from the game because the top two teams Prime and Whitehouse have already booked the final berths.



NASA lost the first quarter 4-6 but managed to win the remaining three quarters 5-2, 6-0, 6-1 to seal the match. Rojina Gurung contributed 12 points for NASA.
