KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The number of political parties registering in Nepal has continued to rise sharply, especially after the Gen Z-led movement earlier in September.
According to data from the Election Commission (EC), a total of 134 political parties are currently registered in the country.
Before the Gen Z movement, the commission had 122 registered parties. Officials say the formation of new groups following the movement has pushed the number up to 134.

By Wednesday afternoon, 84 political parties had formally registered with the Election Commission specifically for the March 5 elections, the commission’s political branch confirmed.
Today is the last day for party registration and the number of registered parties is expected to rise further, the EC reported.
