Dila leads Dina in Congress women’s general secretary race

According to the latest results, Dila  has secured 583 votes, or 44 percent of the total counted. Dina follows with 557 votes, or 42 percent.

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: Dila Sangraula (Panta) has taken the lead in the election for the general secretary seat reserved for women at the Nepali Congress’s 15th General Convention.



Mahalaxmi Upadhyay, also known as Dina, is close behind in second place.

According to the latest results, Sangraula has secured 583 votes, or 44 percent of the total counted. Upadhyay follows with 557 votes, or 42 percent.


Rita Khanal has received 153 votes, accounting for 11.5 percent.


Counting is underway for the single general secretary seat reserved for women.
