SUDURPASCHIM, July 28: Medical education reform campaigner Dr Govinda KC ended his five-day hunger strike in Dhangadhi on Sunday evening after reaching a seven-point agreement with the government's negotiating team.
Dr KC agreed to end the fast after talks between the two sides concluded successfully.

The agreement was signed in the presence of House of Representatives member Pukar Bam and Prof Dr Jagadish Prasad Agrawal, health advisor to Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
The agreement was signed on behalf of the government by Chudamani Paudel, Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology; Dr Bikas Devkota, Secretary at the Ministry of Health and Population; and Chakrakanta Bhusal, Joint Secretary at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
According to the agreement, the government has committed to operating Shahid Dasharath Chand Health Sciences University to its full capacity and implementing reforms in the medical education sector, among other measures. The agreement also states that the university will operate a teaching hospital with at least 300 beds.
