KATHMANDU, July 20: Nepal has received below-average rainfall so far in July, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM).
The DHM said the country has recorded 304.30 mm of rainfall so far this month, compared to the July average of 558.8 mm.

According to the DHM, rainfall was recorded at 372 of the country’s 414 rainfall monitoring stations over the past 24 hours. The nationwide average rainfall during the period stood at 11.7 mm.
The highest rainfall in the past 24 hours was recorded at Patharkot in Kapilvastu, where 167.0 mm of rain was measured.
The highest maximum temperature was recorded in Manthali, Ramechhap, at 35.7 degrees Celsius, while the lowest minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius in Humde, Manang.
Meteorologist David Dhakal said the monsoon remains active, with rainfall likely in various parts of the country.
The department has urged the public to remain alert, particularly in the hills and Tarai, where moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunder and lightning is likely in some areas.
